Optimising Access to Spot Infrastructure for Science
Europe ENTER logo
With the enlargement of the European Union, the remote sensing sector is facing a new dimension in terms of research needs: access to space and ground segments, access to data, products and services, integration of research capabilities from Associate States into EU networks, extension of GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) services to these new territories. This access procedure needs to be consolidated and extended to fulfil the research needs of the established EU Member States, and to cover specific requirements from the new EU Member States and Associate Countries.
OASIS is a European programme financed by the European Commission.

OASIS aims at enlarging the scope and activities of the ISIS programme (Incentive for the Scientific use of Images from the Spot system) implemented in 1994 by the French Space Agency (CNES) to a wider European dimension in order to reach new users.

OASIS intends to optimise the access to the SPOT infrastructure so as to facilitate European space scientific research.
OASIS covers access cost to SPOT services, thus providing free access to European scientific communities.

OASIS is constituted by a Steering Committee made up of the SPOT programme partners from France (CNES), Belgium (SSTC), Sweden (SNSB) and Germany (DLR), and by a Scientific Committee of European experts in charge of assessing projects.
The programme is coordinated by CNES.

To be eligible for OASIS, applicants must satisfy specific conditions.
